Topic:  Potential of BIM technology on the construction site

When:  2017-03-15/16  (details to be confirmed)
Where:  Johannesburg  (details to be confirmed)
Cost: (details to be confirmed)
CPD:  (details to be confirmed)
Host:  BIM in Africa Conference 2017

Refreshments:  sold at the expo

Speakers:  Francois Swanepoel & Werner van der Watt (fusionBIM Directors)
Topic:  Potential of BIM technology on the construction site
Content:
  • Effective communication
    • On site there is normally not a lot of time to communicate via words, and many times the definitions of words vary from person to person. A picture is worth a thousand words. Showing people what you mean, via interactive models, gets the message across faster and more accurately.
  • Document & Data management
    • In order to avoid the site office managing the construction from outdated information, as well as ensuring changes to have the necessary authorizations, organizations had to create cumbersome processes, bogged down with ‘red tape’. Using technology to facilitate automation, free up managers to focus their attention on more productive matters.
  • Data Access - anywhere any time
    • A growing number of Cloud technologies enable data to be accessible at a moment’s notice, right at the point where you need it. Enabling faster and more informed decision making, again impacting the bottom line.
  • Integrated Project Systems
    • Looking at the project with the ability of switching between viewing just certain data and all the data simultaneously, allows management to constantly keep the ‘big picture’ in mind, while focusing on the detail at hand.
